Dear DeKalb County Residents, Business Owners & Visitors:

Thank you for visiting the online home of the DeKalb County Police Department. It is a great honor to serve as the Chief of Police for a department that is committed to keeping citizens safe and improving the quality of life for all residents in DeKalb County.
Terrell Bolton, Chief of Police

In order to effectively achieve these goals, the department has outlined the essential tools needed in a "Road to Success Action Plan." The plan encompasses a number of strategies that will enhance the department’s service to our community for the next decade.

The DeKalb County Police Department is also in the process of transitioning from a traditional police force to one that embodies a philosophy of "Interactive Community Policing (ICP)." This initiative is a proactive approach to solving problems throughout DeKalb County. To ensure this new philosophy is successful our officers need your help. I am asking you to join us as partners as we continue our journey of a "New Start, New Beginning" in DeKalb County.

    Sincerely,
Terrell Bolton
Chief of Police

The DeKalb County Police Department understands and strongly embraces the philosophy of Interactive Community Policing in our daily operations and functions.

We believe DeKalb County must be a safe and secure environment in which to live, work and play. Interactive Community Policing (ICP) is vital to accomplishing this goal.

Through ICP we will build and maintain partnerships with the community, business owners and other law enforcement agencies. We will work together with residents to reduce crime, the fear of crime and improve the quality of life in DeKalb County.
